Brainrot Tower Defense Traits
Giant, Diamond, and the rare Rainbow, Radiation, and Yinyang rolls — spend items on carries.
Traits are the random bonus layer on a Brainrot you already own. They do not replace rarity, combination recipes, or banner luck. You spend reroll items on a unit, the game draws a trait, and that modifier stays until you roll again. Shock Wave Studio added a dedicated reroll flow in a weekly update; the official video is the mid-page embed. This page is how to spend those items without putting Giant on a farm you are about to replace.
What a reroll actually does
Open the unit, spend a trait item, and accept or replace what you have. You cannot stack two combat traits by rolling twice and keeping both. The new roll overwrites. That is why you do not tap reroll on every Legendary in the index. Items come from codes, event quests, and some Endless / chest rewards. Gift-icon strings sometimes include rerolls next to gems; redeem those before you queue, using how to redeem if the UI is new.
Common outcomes you should plan around:
- Giant — minus 10 percent SPA. Faster shots. This is the combat default on a carry that already has the right attack type (Full AoE, Circle, Line, or boss chip).
- Diamond — plus 50 percent XP. This is a leveling trait. Put it on a unit you still need to evolve or index, then reroll off it once the level cap is done.
- Rainbow, Radiation, Yinyang — rare table. Players chase them because they are rare, not because every rare is a Giant equivalent. If a rare roll lands on a D-tier filler Legendary, it is still a filler Legendary. Move the item budget back to the carry.
Event quests drip extra rolls. Sakura is the example from the official update video: play the event maps, finish the quests, take the items, leave.
Who deserves the item
Spend on units that will still be on the board next week. That usually means the live S-tier and the A-tier you actually place:
- Graipus Medussi (Banner Secret, Full AoE) — Giant first. Faster Full AoE is the reason you pulled the Secret.
- Elefanti Strawberry (Combination, Circle) — Giant on the Circle pocket.
- Saturno Saturnita (Banner Mythic, boss chip with splash) — Giant so the boss chip cycles; Diamond only if the copy is still underleveled.
- Major Combination (slow Support) — Giant if SPA is the bottleneck on the slow pulse; otherwise save the item.
- Los Tralalero Dicen Tralala (cash farm combination) — usually not Giant. A farm’s job is cash, not DPS. Diamond can be fine while you finish its levels, then stop.
A-tier that still eats items: KarKerKar KurKur, Los Metteo, Battle Pass Mythic Pot Hotspot, beginner Full AoE Ballerina Cappucina. Dragon Cannelloni is a placement hero, not a Giant sink, unless it is your only carry. Strawberrelli Flamingelli (Line) can take Giant if the straight is the plan. Garama, Madundug, and filler Legendaries are combination food. See farm units, mythics, secrets, and trait priority.
When to stop rolling
Stop when the trait matches the job. Giant on a carry is a stop. Diamond on a finished, evolved unit is a waste; roll off it when you can afford the miss. A rare Rainbow on a unit you do not place is a trophy, not a plan. If you are still leaking story maps, you have a placement problem, not a trait problem. Invite a friend into the 20-player server and fix the four roles before you burn the rest of the item stack.
Traits do not craft combinations. Copies and event materials belong on the lobby machine in combinations. Gems belong on boosted banners in summoning. After a weekly update or event that adds a trait quest, re-rank who gets the next item — do not reroll the entire roster.
If you skipped onboarding, getting started still wants a cheap starter and focused upgrades. Traits are a second-session system.
Stop rerolling the moment the trait matches the job: Giant on a carry, Diamond on a unit you still need to level, and the rare cosmetics only when you can afford to miss. Unspent rerolls beat a Giant farm that no longer prints cash.
Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers to the most common questions.
How do I reroll a trait?
Open the unit and spend a trait item. The new roll overwrites the old one. Items come from codes, event quests such as Sakura, and some chests.
What does Giant do?
Giant reduces SPA by 10 percent, so the unit fires faster. Put it on carries (Graipus Medussi, Elefanti Strawberry, Saturno Saturnita), not on a farm you are about to bench.
What does Diamond do?
Diamond adds 50 percent XP. Use it while a keeper unit is still leveling or evolving, then reroll toward Giant or a rare you actually want.
Are Rainbow, Radiation, and Yinyang always better?
They are rare, not automatic upgrades. A rare trait on a D-tier Legendary is still a D-tier Legendary. Spend items on units you place.
Do trait quests replace summoning?
No. Quests drip reroll items. Banners still cost gems. Keep summoning and gem spending as a separate budget.
Should I reroll during a match?
No. Reroll in the lobby, then place. Mid-wave clicking is how you mis-click a farm and overwrite a Giant you meant to keep.
