Brainrot Tower Defense Trait Priority by Role
Giant for SPA, Diamond for XP, Rainbow / Radiation / Yinyang as the rare chase.
Trait priority in Brainrot Tower Defense is a reroll order, not a fashion list. Each copy of a unit can roll a bonus. You chase the bonus that matches that copy’s job on the lane. The traits guide explains how rerolls drop. This page is the spend order after you already know the mechanic.
Keep the rarest rolls in mind: Rainbow, Radiation, and Yinyang sit at the top of the rarity table. Do not burn a week of Gems chasing them on a placeholder Epic. Giant and Diamond are the practical keeps.
The rolls that matter
Giant (−10% SPA). SPA is seconds per attack. Minus 10% SPA is a faster attack cycle. Giant is the default keep on any DPS copy that lives or dies on hit count: full AoE Secrets, circle carries, and single-target boss killers. A slower SPA trait on a best unit is a downgrade even if the name looks rare.
Diamond (+50% XP). Diamond does not add damage. It adds experience, which means the copy climbs upgrade breakpoints faster during a match and during account leveling. Put Diamond on units you are still starring up, on farm units that sit every run, and on supports you will not replace next week. Once a carry is capped, Giant (or a rare damage roll) beats Diamond on that same pad.
Rainbow, Radiation, Yinyang. These are the rarest chase traits. When they land on a Secret or a locked-in Mythic, you stop rerolling. When they land on a unit you are about to sell, you still stop and think, but you do not rebuild the entire team comp around a pretty Epic. Treat them as jackpots, not as a reason to empty the reroll shop on day one.
Other rolls exist and rotate with weekly updates. If a new name appears after a Saturday patch, compare it to the job: more damage, less SPA, more range, more gold, more slow. If it does not serve the job, it is a skip even if the icon is loud.
DPS priority
DPS wants damage, AoE coverage, and SPA. The keep order on a carry from the tier list is:
- Rainbow / Radiation / Yinyang if they are damage or speed flavored on that unit.
- Giant (−10% SPA) as the realistic target.
- Raw damage or AoE traits if the patch added them.
- Diamond only while the copy is still leveling.
- Economy and slow traits are wastes on a carry pad; those belong on farm and support.
Full-AoE Secrets gain the most from SPA and damage because every extra hit is an extra full-board tick. Single-target Mythics spend the same two stats on one enemy. Do not chase range on a unit that already covers the lane.
Farm priority
Farm wants economy. A farm unit exists to print cash so the DPS can upgrade. Diamond is useful here because the farm sits every match and extra XP keeps it relevant as you climb difficulties. Economy-named traits beat Giant on a pure gold printer. Giant is acceptable if the farm also chips the lane; it is wrong if the farm never attacks.
Do not park Rainbow on a farm you will replace when a better printer drops unless you have rerolls to spare. The rarest traits belong on the carry that clears Endless, not on the pad that pays for it. Read Farm Units before you reroll a printer at all; some farms are combination pieces and should wait for the combinations guide.
Support priority
Support wants slow uptime. A 40% slow that is late is a leak. Traits that extend duration, shorten SPA on the slow pulse, or widen the aura beat Giant-as-damage and beat Diamond once the support is leveled. Giant still helps if the slow is tied to an attack cycle: −10% SPA means more slow applications per wave.
Yinyang, Radiation, and Rainbow are keepers on a support you will never sell, because replacing a slow unit mid-climb is how Endless dies. They are not keepers on a random Epic slow you pulled while hunting a Secret. Bank the rare trait only if the unit is in your team.
How to spend rerolls without going broke
Rerolls come from gameplay, shops, and sometimes codes. Gems that could buy rerolls can also buy summons. The split lives on Gem Spending: boosted Secret banners first if you lack the carry, targeted rerolls first if you already own it. Redeem Active codes before you start tapping so you know the real budget.
Reroll on the copy you will place this week, not on a storage unit. Co-op servers up to 20 players do not share traits; your Giant carry is yours. Invite friends for hands on the lane, not for extra rolls.
New players should finish Getting Started and lock a starter team before they chase Yinyang.
Reroll DPS toward Giant and damage, park Diamond on units that still need XP, and stop immediately when Rainbow, Radiation, or Yinyang hits a keeper. Trait priority is a stop rule for the reroll shop, not a reason to spend every Gem before the next weekly banner.
Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers to the most common questions.
What does Giant do in Brainrot Tower Defense?
Giant is −10% SPA, which speeds up attacks. It is the practical DPS keep. Full trait mechanics are on the traits guide.
When do I keep Diamond instead of Giant?
When the copy still needs XP or sits as a farm every run. Diamond is +50% XP, not damage. Farm names are on Farm Units.
Which traits are the rarest?
Rainbow, Radiation, and Yinyang. Stop rerolling if they land on a unit you will keep. Do not chase them on placeholders.
What should support units look for?
Slow uptime: duration, faster slow pulses, or a wider aura. Giant helps only if the slow is tied to SPA. See team comps.
Should I reroll or summon with my code Gems?
Summon if you lack the carry and a Secret is boosted. Reroll if you already own it. The split is on Gem Spending.
Do traits change after weekly updates?
New names can appear. Re-read this page and weekly updates after Saturday patches before you dump a reroll stack.
